A full day at sea is pure holiday, as long as you've packed right. Here is our checklist for a day trip to Karaburun, Haxhi Ali Cave and Sazan Island, based on what our guests forget most often.
The essentials
- Swimwear. Wear it under your clothes to save time.
- Towel. A quick-dry towel is ideal.
- Sunscreen (SPF 30+). The sun on the water is stronger than you think. Reef-safe if possible.
- Sunglasses and a hat. Something that won't fly away in the wind.
- Water shoes. The beaches in the marine park are pebbles and rocks.
- Cash in lek or euro. For the bar, meals, sunbeds and the optional speedboat into Haxhi Ali Cave. Cards are not accepted on board.
- Your phone with WhatsApp. We send the meeting point and any updates there.
Nice to have
- Mask and snorkel. The visibility in the marine park is excellent.
- Waterproof phone pouch. Essential if you take the small boat into the cave.
- Light long-sleeved top. For sun protection and the breeze on the way back.
- Small dry bag. Keeps clothes and documents dry.
- Motion-sickness tablets. Only if you're sensitive. Our big boat is stable, but the sea can be choppy on windy days.
For children
- Their own swim vest if they have one (please ask us about life jackets when you book)
- Snacks they like, a spare set of dry clothes and a sun hat
What you don't need
- Lots of food. There is a bar and food on board (see the menu).
- Valuables or big bags. Space is shared, so travel light.
How much cash should I bring?
That depends on how much you eat and drink. As a guide, plan for drinks, a meal, a sunbed if you want one and the cave speedboat. Ask us on WhatsApp for current prices before your trip.
